After two difficult losses to SLUH Varsity (15-2) and DeSmet JV (15-4) on Sunday, CBC Ultimate had its most important game of the year yesterday against SLUH JV.
The winner of the game would earn the last spot in the Missouri State Championship Tournament.
CBC was slow from the start and quickly found themselves down 3 – 0. CBC would battle to keep the game close but found themselves still down 10 – 6 late in the second half.
Then senior captain Bryce Reagan took over the game. Leading the Ultimate Cadets with shut down defense and fluid offense, CBC found itself all tied up 13 -13, only two points away from a trip to the state championships.
The Cadets took the lead with a great defensive play and Reagan threw hammer to junior captain Billy Imming. For the last point, the Cadets took advantage of a SLUH turnover and quickly scored with a Imming connection, Billy Imming throwing to sophomore Will Imming to seal the 15-13 win and a trip to the State Championships.
