Around this time of the year, most of our attention is directed toward CBC athletics, but CBC has several activities focusing on the arts to look forward to as well.

The band, under the direction of Mr. Jerry Arana, is currently working on music to play at grade school concerts between now and spring break.

The band also performs at numerous CBC events such as graduation, Junior Ring Ceremony, and some varsity games.

Band member Seamus Dailey plays the trumpet for the band and has been in the CBC musical group for two years, his first year in Beginning Band and now currently in Varsity Band. He said that he joined band because he “wanted to learn how to play an instrument.”

“It’s a great fun learning environment. There’s nothing not to like about it,” two-year Varsity Band member Andrew Vitale said. Many students agree that Smart Music may be the hardest aspect of Band but, overall feel that the course is challenging, entertaining, and exciting.

The band is currently looking for new talent or seeking those who are just curious about instruments. The course counts as one full credit of fine arts for each year.
